Emily grew up in rural New Hampshire and is thrilled to be returning to the Upper Valley as an Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College. Emily received a BA in Chemistry modified with Environmental Studies from Dartmouth and a PhD in Soil Biogeochemistry from Stanford University. She is currently completing a postoc at Université de Lausanne, where she investigates how roots do (or do not) drive anoxic microsite formation in upland soils. When she's not doing science, Emily enjoys running, hiking, gardening, cooking, dancing, singing, and hanging with her husband/IT support.
